DAY 1 August, 13th 2018 Dr. Rita May P. Tagalog, EdD - ISRM Dean, School of Education as our coordinator here, introduced us to the Chair Teacher Education Department and Student Teaching Coordinator for the local practicumers, Ms. Mariter Malonjao, then later on we are introduced to our mentors, I have Mrs. Robie Postrano. She is the English teacher for grade ten.  Grade ten is divided into 8 sections which five of them are handled by Mrs. Postrano and the rest is handled by Ms. Hazel Enad. The period of each meeting for English subject is 60 minutes. Each class has English subject every day. It means that Mrs. Postrano has to teach in the classroom 5 hours per day and 25 hours per week which is a lot in my opinion and so busy. Each class that she has consists of around 40 students. The University of San Carlos (USC or colloquially shortened to San Carlos) is a private, Catholic and research university in Cebu City which is administered and managed by the Society of the Divine Word since 1935. It provides basic education (Montessori academy, grade school, and junior high school), senior high school, undergraduate and graduate studies higher education. Administered by the Society of the Divine Word (Societas Verbi Divini, SVD) since 1935, the University of San Carlos (USC) traces its roots to the Colegio de San Ildefonso founded in August 1595 in Cebu City. The school closed in 1769 following the expulsion of Jesuit priests from the Philippines, and was reopened in 1783 as Colegio-Seminario de San Carlos which operated until the Colegio split from the seminary in 1930.
